  1. One thousand data sets were generated under a model with Weibull baseline hazard functions described in “Simulation study” section with n=5,000 and were fit to models with Weibull and B-spline parameterized baseline hazard functions. Point estimates and analytical standard errors (SE a) were averaged across estimates. Empirical standard errors (SE e) correspond to the standard deviation of the parameter sampling distributions. Coverage was calculated as the proportion of estimated 95% Wald-based confidence intervals that contained the true parameter
